DRIVING
DIRECTIONS TO THE STUDIOS OF FROM THE VILLAGE OF WARWICK: At traffic light in Middle of village (a three-way intersection where Route 94 Intersects with West Street) go west on West Street. Go approximately 1 mile to traffic light. At traffic light make a right onto County Route 1. Go approximately 2 1/2 miles to second blinking traffic light. Continue straight (approximately 1.1 miles past blinker) to first left which is Amity Road. It is a fork off to the left rather than a sharp left turn. Take that fork. Jonathan Talbot's studio is the second driveway on your left and is marked by a sign saying "Talbot Studio" and a large # 7 on an oversize farm mailbox. To reach the studios of Gary Genetti and Mena Messina continue straight on Amity Road until you reach the hamlet of Amity (see map above). Make left on Timlow Lane and then turn right on Walling Road to #74. Travel time: 10 minutes FROM NEW YORK CITY: Take Upper Level of G.W. Bridge to Palisades Parkway to Exit 9W to New York State Thruway north and west. Get off Thruway at Exit 15A for Sloatsburg, Tuxedo, and old Route 17 North. Go north through Sloatsburg and Tuxedo (Caution: Speed Traps common in these towns). Two miles past Tuxedo make a left just before the overpass onto Routes 17A/210. Go past Sterling Forest and up over mountain and down into Greenwood Lake (Careful: Speed Traps again!) which is about 7 miles from the point where you made the left. After small bridge entering Greenwood Lake bear right at fork to "Stop" sign. Bear right again at "Stop" sign and almost immediately bear left on Route 17A towards Warwick. Go up over mountain and down and continue straight until you come to a "T" with a traffic signal where Route 17A meets Route 94. Make a right and go north approximately five blocks until you cross railroad tracks and reach three-way intersection with traffic light. Make a left onto West Street and follow directions "FROM THE VILLAGE OF WARWICK" Travel time: 1 hour 15 minutes. FROM NEW YORK CITY (IN BAD WEATHER OR SNOW): Take Upper Level of G.W. Bridge to Palisades Parkway to Exit 9W to New York State Thruway north and west. Get off Thruway at Exit 16. Go straight after toll on Route 17 northwest. Get off Route 17 at Exit 126 / Chester. At end of upward sloping ramp make left on Route 94. Follow Route 94 about 4 miles to the Village of Florida (Caution: Obey speed limits...many speed traps). At first traffic signal in Village of Florida (Dunkin Donuts is on far left corner) make a left (still on Route 94 which is also called Main Street here). Go about six city blocks to next light. Make right at light onto Bridge Street. Cross small bridge and follow main road which is now Wheeler Avenue (Bridge Street has "split off" to the right). Go another 100 or 150 yards and stay on main road by bearing right at next fork (follow signs to Campground). Pass campground and stay on main road by going straight when Wheeler Avenue splits off to the right. You will now be on Union Corners Road. Go about five miles (pass Town Park along the way) until you reach the hamlet of Edenville. Go straight at stop sign for another few blocks until you reach flashing red blinker. This is a dangerous intersection so please be careful. Make a right at the blinker on County Route 1. Go 1.1 miles to first left which is Amity Road. Make a right on Route 515 (no left is possible) and go north for approximately 7 miles until, after descending a long hill, you pass the A&P and come to a traffic signal in Vernon, NJ. Go straight at signal on Routes 515/94 for approximately 2 miles until Route 515 turns off to the left (just before Heaven Hill Farm, a sizeable rustic roadside farm stand). Make that left on 515 and follow the winding country road that 515 has become. There are some intersections. Make no left turns but bear left whenever you are in doubt. Cross into New York State (signs say "Entering Warwick" and road gets worse). Continue to bear left when in doubt until you enter hamlet of Amity (large church on your left). For studio of Jonathan Talbot make first right after church onto Amity Road. Pass firehouse and a few intersections and a local pub called "The Crystal Inn" on left and look for #7 and studio sign on right. At end of ramp make left and go 1/8 mile to intersection which is Route 6. Make a left on Route 6 and go one mile, past general store with gas pumps, to a fork off to the right which is County Route 1 (Signs should say Westtown, Pine Island, or Warwick). Follow County Route 1 Through Westtown to Pine Island (there's a stop sign where you will have to make a left just before Pine Island).
